WHO & WHAT:  An IRL EVENT with acclaimed poet, essayist, cultural critic, and son of Ohio,  Hanif Abdurraqib, as we celebrate his personal reflection on basketball, talent and allegiance, and of course, LeBron James. Hanif will be joined in conversation with Traci Thomas, creator and host of the popular book podcast, The Stacks

• GUARANTEED SEAT *BOOK NOT INCLUDED*: This ticket guarantees a seat and DOES NOT include a copy of the book. Book available for purchase on site at the event. 

• FREE *IRL*: IRL Event entry based on capacity. Limited Signed copies will be available for purchase during the event. Due to our limited capacity, please only RSVP if you plan to attend.

• SIGNED BOOK ONLY: Can't make it IRL but want a signed copy? We'll ship it to you after the event!

      Hanif Abdurraqib is a poet, essayist, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio. He is also a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation “Genius” grant. Abdurraqib’s recent book, A Little Devil in America, was the winner of the Carnegie Medal and the Gordon Burns Prize and a finalist for the National Book Award. His first full-length poetry collection, The Crown Ain't Worth Much, was named a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Award and was nominated for a Hurston-Wright Legacy Award. His first collection of essays, They Can't Kill Us Until They Kill Us was named a book of the year by NPR, Esquire, BuzzFeed, O: The Oprah Magazine, Pitchfork, and Chicago Tribune, among others. Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to a Tribe Called Quest was a New York Times bestseller and a National Book Critics Circle Award and Kirkus Prize finalist and was long-listed for the National Book Award. His second collection of poems, A Fortune for Your Disaster, won the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize. He is a graduate of Beechcroft High School.

       

      Traci Thomas is the creator and host of The Stacks, a podcast about books and the way they shape culture. The show asks the questions that provoke meaningful, poignant, and often hilarious conversations. Traci also hosts a live literary series with LAist called One for the Books, is a monthly contributor for NPR's Here & Now, and she writes a monthly column on shereads.com.
