When Madina's fat, fabulous, and fearless momma signs the two of them up for a family fun run, Madina right to working on costumes to make them the stars of the race. But...nothing comes out right. Some outfits are too shiny, others are too itchy, others are just plain wrong. But with some creativity and some determination, Madina knows that, just like Momma, she can be fat, fabulous, fearless...and unstoppable.

Kam Asanyi is an award-winning children’s author and activist. Once upon a time, Kam traveled the world hobnobbing with foreign dignitaries and senior US government officials. They now spend their time writing joyful stories oozing in Black pride and queer joy. Their debut picture book Marley's Pride won a Stonewall Honor and was included in the Rainbow Book List for best LGBTQIA youth books. Their forthcoming picture books include Madina's Big Fireside Fix and Belly Growls. When they are not writing, you can find them adventuring with their family, geeking out about compost, or dreaming about tiny house living.



Kennedy Loraine is an American illustrator born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Art History from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. After graduation, Kennedy moved abroad, working in education for nearly 4 years before returning to the States to pursue her art career full time. When Kennedy is not drawing, you can find her learning French, reading manga or trying every buttery croissant she can find.
